Welcome to Sustainabro
This is my first attempt at a blog, please don't judge
Welcome to the first ever Sustainabro blog, bringing you stories and information you didn’t know you needed to know. With this blog I’ll be highlighting topics I find interesting in the field of Sustainability. Will Sheppard (you know him from the Sustainabro Podcast, if you don't, check it out it’s right up your alley) and I are both early 20 something, normal guys from New Hampshire. We’re not health nuts (although Will is pushing it) we’re not hardcore conservationists, we’re just regular guys that like the environment and would rather not see it destroyed. Living in New Hampshire we both grew up hiking, skiing, fishing, swimming, and otherwise enjoying our Beautiful state. We know that we’re lucky to be from a corner of the country that has remained reasonably well protected from the worst of climate change, habitat destruction, and pollution. We know most states aren’t this lucky, and that if nothing changes, it won’t be long before New Hampshire, and everywhere else in the world, is damaged beyond repair.
I am going to be bringing you guys a few blog posts a week, some hitting on topics Will brings up in the podcast, and others on topics I find interesting at that time. The consistent factor will be that the topics I’ll be highlighting are all centered around sustainability and about the little differences people like Will and I can make in our day to day. Most people want to help keep the earth clean, they just don’t want to go past what's comfortable for them in the pursuit of sustainability. This blog is going to offer ideas and tips on small decisions and small changes that anyone could comfortably make that can have a huge impact over time.
There is another incentive to living sustainably, Will and I will be talking a lot about the financial impact of living an environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle. You can save a lot of money by doing something as small as changing your lightbulbs over to LEDs, so expect to see regular posts about sustainable financials.
We want to share as many effective tips and tools as possible, so feel free to reach out to us if you have something you’d like to share with us or a topic you’d like to see us cover. Will is going to be doing a lot of interviews with professionals in fields related to sustainability so we’ll be getting input from some people that really know their stuff. And if you work in a field related to sustainability please reach out! We’d love to have the opportunity to interview you and share some of your ideas.
